Jamie White
Clinical Director of Children's Services

Jamie has worked for Gem State Developmental Center since June of 2013. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology through the University of Phoenix. As Clinical Director of Children's Services, Jamie really enjoys supporting participants in meeting their goals, and serving as primary supervisor for staff in her department. Jamie enjoys spending time with family and friends, creating arts & crafts, and being outdoors in nature.

Shawna Weeks
Developmental Specialist / BI

Shawna has been with Gem State Developmental Center since October of 2020. She earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from Boise State University. Shawna enjoys working as a Developmental Specialist in a collaborative team environment and having the opportunity to foster the social and emotional development of (adults/children) with special needs. Shawna's personal goals include attending a home game for every MLB team (she's a Yankees fan), traveling throughout the U.S., living in NYC, reading, going to museums, and attending live music events. Her big professional goal is to become a licensed social worker and to possibly renew her CNA certification.

Michael Walker
Developmental Specialist / BI

Michael has worked at Gem State Developmental Center since May of 2017. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Farmingdale State College in New York and Master of Education in Special Education from Boise State University. Michael enjoys working as a Developmental Specialist in a collaborative team environment and having the opportunity to utilize evidence-based practices to foster the social and emotional development of children with special needs. Michael loves spending time with family and friends, reading about psychology and watching a good hockey game!

April Walker
Developmental Specialist / BI

April has been with Gem State Developmental Center since February of 2022. She earned her degree in degree in Psychology and currently works with children with special needs as a Developmental Specialist/Behavior Interventionist. April loves spending time with family and friends and enjoys her work at the center.

Janette Smith
Developmental Specialist / BI

Janette has been with Gem State Developmental Center since October of 2021. She earned her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Human Development and currently works as a Developmental Specialist 1 for the Children's programs. Janette enjoys supporting participants and providing them with the necessary tools to meet their goals. She enjoys time with family and friends, scrapbooking, and puzzles.

Lori Amos
Developmental Specialist / BI

Lori has been with Gem State Developmental Center since May of 2022. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from West Georgia College, and her Masters of Early Childhood Education from TUI University. In her role as a Developmental Specialist 1, Lori enriches the lives of children with special needs through creativity and self-confidence. Lori enjoys reading, gardening, face-painting, and crocheting.

Mandy Slender
Behavior Interventionist

Mandy has been with Gem State Developmental Center since May of 2021. She earned her degree in Health Science and currently works with children with special needs as a Behavior Interventionist.

Krista Caceres
Behavior Interventionist

Krista has been with Gem State Developmental Center since May of 2022. She earned her degree in Recreational Therapy and currently works as a Behavioral Intervention Specialist. She enjoys supporting participants and providing them with the necessary tools to meet their goals. Krista enjoys reading and watching movies in her free time. She is excited to continue working and learning with Gem State's wonderful people.

Julia Morton
Behavior Interventionist Technician

Julia has been with Gem State Developmental Center since January of 2022. She is currently attending NNU to complete her Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Psychology and Communication. She provides quality support in her position as a Behavior Intervention Technician. Julia's career goal is to thrive in her profession, while supporting those around her to do the same. Julia enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching all things Disney, and playing card games.

Grace Howard
Developmental Technician

Grace has been with Gem State Developmental Center since May of 2020. She graduated from Kuna High School and currently works with children with special needs as a Developmental Technician.
