Developmental Technician – Adult Centers
Under the general supervision of a Developmental Specialist, the Developmental Technician implements prescriptive developmental programs for developmentally delayed and developmentally disabled individuals.
Individual Related Programming
Individual Training: Implements training programs as assigned. Conducts individual and group developmental therapy support sessions.
Data Collection: Participates in the data collection process.
Program Coordination: Under supervisory direction of the Developmental Specialist, coordinates treatment programs with inter–related programs such as social work, psychology, communication disorders, occupational therapy, physical therapy; may coordinate services with other public and private agencies and resources; may consult with parents/residential care providers regarding individual’s progress, specific disabilities, deficiencies and delays.
Individual Supervision
Individual Safety: Observes individual safety procedures.
Support Services: Works with individuals to train independence in household chores.
Communication: Records messages for other staff.
Staff Meetings: Attends general staff meetings as requested.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age for insurance requirements.
- Must have high-school diploma or GED.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Background check with DHW is required before hire.
- Must be kind and patient.
- Employer has grooming and appearance standards.
Work Schedule
Part-time position, Monday-Friday. Experience preferred, but not required. Wage is $14.00 per hour.
